BJJ - FBT 2024 Rules:

RULES - Submission only

CLOTHES
No pockets or zippers in the clothes.
Spatz or shorts. Rashguards, tight fitting tshirts or shirtless all accepted.

Ways a Match can be Won:

  • By Submission victory within regulation time.

  • By opponent disqualification.

  • By opponent forfeiture.

  • TKO at the referee’s discretion (verbal outbursts, risk of serious injurie, unconscious)

- victory by submission, fastest submission time, or fastest escape time
Spiderweb or seatbelt

Match length: 5 min

Participants must be born in of prior to 2009. (Under 18 with written permission from parent)

Illegal moves and submissions:

  • Striking of any kind with, and not limited to, arms, legs and head

  • Slamming/spiking

  • Scissor takedowns (allowed in expert)

  • Can openers (allowed in expert)

  • Smal joint manipulation (toes and less than 3 fingers)

  • Poking (eyes, ears, other openings)

  • Heel hooks and toeholds (allowed in expert)

  • Reaping (allowed in intermediate and expert)

  • Wrist locks (allowed in intermediate and expert)

  • Squeezing the windpipe (open hand to the throat like rape choke)

Severe misconduct on or off the mats will result in total disqualification for the whole event.

If only one participant in your weight class you are given the chance to move up one class (weight or level) or offered refund.

If only two participants in a weight class they are offered the chance to move up one class (weight or level) – both participators have to accept it.

If 3-5 participants in a weight class all is matched up with each other.

If 6 or more participants in a weight class, the class is fought by knock out system with repechage.

The organizer can not be held responsible for injuries etc.

In case a bracket or a knock out match is draw the winner will found in following way between the participators.

  • (hierarchy) Victory by submission, fastest submission time, or fastest escape time
